Hi! My name is Moe (Maranda) Christiansen. I am currently a sophomore, dual-enrolled at Timpview and Provo High Schools. I like lots of things, but three of my greatest interests right now are soccer, Africa and humanitarian service. I feel so luck to have the chance to combine all three of these in one amazing event!

I have always loved soccer from my early first grade days when I would do nothing but sit on the field and pick the grass, to now when I play it spring, summer, winter and fall….I’m always ready for more.

My interest in Africa started long before this amazing opportunity but now it has had a chance to unravel and grow. I love learning about the history of Africa, how it has developed, and especially the people. I feel so blessed to be given the chance to inspire hope in these young people whom I already feel a special bond to.

Last year I visited the LDS Humanitarian Center in Salt Lake City. I had been there several times when I was younger, but this time I was very impressed by the idea that I wanted humanitarian service to be major part of my adult life. I had decided that whatever occupation I chose to go to in the future I would like it to tie back into humanitarian service. I feel like I am so fortunate to be able to start now!
