“WE ARE THE CHANGE” PROJECTS

During Goals for Girls Leadership Summits, and through the Young Leader Academies, participants learn about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG), and take on the Goals for Girls Challenge, which is to: find a way to make an impact in your community through the creation of a “We are the Change” project.

Participants are equipped with a user-centered design approach for creating change. This process encompasses community surveying, data analysis, brainstorming, and storytelling techniques such as storyboarding. With an emphasis on collaboration, creativity, and impact, girls work towards developing comprehensive plans.

These plans are brought to life over the following 5-6 months, culminating in a virtual meeting where participants and their organizations present their completed projects to a panel. This approach ensures that each girl leaves the summit equipped not only with a plan but with a tangible outline and the steps to implement that plan.

Here are some of the incredible ways that girls around the world are making change in their communities:

“Post the Leadership Summit, the girls has shown tremendous change in personal and social skills and started imparting by weekly sessions in their respected community by bringing in more girls in the playing ground and encouraging them to engage in the football and teaching them the importance of personal skills, social skills, and health & hygiene awareness along with the importance of education.”
