Our story

In 2007, when a team of 16-year-old girls from Washington, DC decided that rather than spend the resources to go to an international tournament, they would use those resources for good and try to positively impact the world through soccer. They organized for a year through fundraising, planning with organizations in South Africa, and working with mentors who were using soccer for good around the world.

They never imagined that what they created would become such a unique and powerful platform that would someday be impacting thousands of young women around the world. This was the original Goals for Girls Change Project, and one which inspired other teams, new partners, funding institutions, and icons of the U.S. Women’s National Team to take up the cause and build a sustainable and growing international organization where girls from all backgrounds collaborate to positively impact their worlds through soccer.

Where we’ve been

Thank you for providing me the opportunity to go to South Africa and experience one of the most memorable 2 weeks of my life. It is through this trip that I really found my passion of wanting to be able to provide assistance medically for those who are in need. That trip truly changed my life for the better.
